i don't always *want* to say no. but i cannot say yes to everything. i remember my mom telling me once that that's what broke my dad. not wanting to say no. it's hard to continually come up with ways to say no, that is calm, and patient, and guilt free. it's exhausting. and when i say yes, it would be so nice if someone noticed. and maybe said thank you. or maybe realize asking for so much is not kind to begin with.
